Several acrobats from China visited Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary School on March 29 for a special performance assembly sharing the traditional Chinese performing arts.

During their performance, the acrobats combined astounding feats of skill, focus and athleticism with teaching moments of Chinese culture, language and history. Students were able to witness dazzling acrobatic stunts and feats of balance, flexibility, coordination and strength demonstrating how practice, concentration and hard work turn the acrobats’ bodies into moving works of art.

The two thousand-year-old art of Chinese acrobatics combines concepts of both physical and spiritual strength. Coupled with an acrobat's immense athletic strength, impeccable balance and timing is the Asian philosophy of inner strength, which focuses the body and mind to work in perfect harmony. Each individual acrobat's physical and philosophical strength combines with that of the fellow members of his or her troupe in magnificent displays of balancing, juggling, dance, comedy and magic.
