3/5/19 - 11th Annual Youth Art Month Exhibit at Bassett Healthcare
Throughout the month of March, 10 Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary artists and 10 Frankfort-Schuyler Middle School artists will have their works on display as part of the 11th Annual Youth Art Month exhibit at Bassett Healthcare in Herkimer. The county-wide exhibit showcases outstanding art work of local art students in pre-K through grade 12 as part of March as Youth Art Month. The exhibit, sponsored by the Herkimer County Art Circles Professional Development Group, focuses on the value of art education and recognizes art as a necessity for the full development of skills, knowledge and cultural awareness within the total academic curriculum.
The art show includes student and teacher artwork from Central Valley, Dolgeville, Frankfort-Schuyler, Herkimer, Little Falls, Owen D. Young, Poland and Richfield Springs.
The artists, their families and community members were invited to an exhibition opening reception and presentation of certificates on March 5 at the Bassett Healthcare building in Herkimer. The show will be on display until April 2 during business hours.
