1/24/20 - Career Day
On Jan. 24, Frankfort-Schuyler Elementary School was bustling with local professionals and eager students.
From 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., students in grades three through five rotated around their classrooms and were able to spend 15 minutes with each of the experts. Careers that they had the opportunity to learn about included: cosmetology, visual arts, healthcare, conservation, manufacturing, finance, broadcasting, law enforcement and firefighting. Students were able to learn from local professionals as well as current students exploring the respective fields.
Kindergarten through second graders spent their morning in the gym, where several different professionals had stations and hands-on activities set up for the children to explore. Stations included: policemen, floral design, farming and teaching. Students enjoyed seeing crucial police gear up close, creating beautiful floral arrangements, and getting to pet a real bunny and learn about animal needs.
